Sixth grader Aman Patel won the school-level spelling bee on Dec. 7 and will represent the school at the Elkhart County Bee on Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Elkhart Memorial High School.

Patel won by correctly spelling "ferryboat." Eighth-grader Lena Yeakey was the runner up and will serve as the alternate.
