Six Qualify for State

Bethany's speech team competed at the Indiana High School Forensic Association (IHSFA) sectional tournament at Concord on Saturday, March 5, with six students qualifying for the state tournament, which will be held at Fishers High School on March 26. Qualifiers include:

• Junior Grace Whiteford, fifth in dramatic interpretation,
• Junior Paige Wheeler, sixth in international extemporaneous speaking,
• Sophomores Wade Troyer and Jesse Bontreger, fourth in memorized duo interpretation,
• Frosh Parth Patel and Hanna Hochstetler, scripted duo interpretation (qualified as alternates, but will compete at state since another qualifying team won't be able to attend)

Additionally, junior Pooja Patel is first alternate in original oratory and seniors Ji Eun Han and Sharisse Yoder are second alternates in original oratory and dramatic interpretation respectively.

Frosh Rachel A. Schrock and Parth Patel and sophomores Josh Helmuth and Dona Park all qualified for the semifinal round in prose interpretation but are not advancing to state.
