Bethany 2nd in regional
Bethany's high school Science Olympiad team won second place in the Goshen College regional tournament on Saturday, Feb. 5, earning an invitation to the March 12 wildcard competition next month to compete for a spot in the state tournament.
The team competed in 15 of the 23 categories and won a total of 28 medals. Sophomores Himal King and Ryan Minter led the team with six medals each. Other team members included Joel Gerig, Kyle Miller, Joseph Mumaw, David Nussbaum, Parth Patel, Abe Thorne, and Justin Zehr. Chemistry and physics teacher Calvin Swartzendruber coached the team.
