Leadership Development

Students explore leadership in church and athletic programs. This summer and fall students from Bethany have been exploring leadership through programs of Mennonite Church USA and its seminaries and the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA),

  • !Explore.  Senior Johnny Kauffman, along with 2008 grad Michael Fecher, was among 14 youth from across the Mennonite Church to participate in Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary's summer 2008 !Explore program, which provides high school juniors and seniors an experience designed to encourage the development of their gifts in leadership, expose them to the world of theological ideas, and foster in them a call to vocation in the church.   • LEAP 365. Junior Karsten Hess is one of 16 participants in Eastern Mennonite Seminary's LEAP 365, a year-long mentoring program for high school youth that focuses on theological reflection, vocational exploration, and cross-cultural experience. Read more about Karsten's experience.
  • Y-LEAD. Jill Eigsti ('10), Sara Klassen ('10), Chris Minter ('11), and Nick Rebec ('10) were among approximately 75 youth from across the Mennonite Church who met to discover and celebrate their God-given strengths at the Sept. 12-14 Y-LEAD 2008. Read more about their experiences.
  • IHSAA Student Advisory Committee. Jesse Ramer has been selected to the 18-member IHSAA Student Advisory Committee, which is made up of student-athletes from across the state of Indiana. Read about Jesse's selection.
