Beginning 2011-12

Bethany Christian Schools' board unanimously approved plans to offer a 4th-5th grade combined class beginning in fall 2011. The board and administration believes this will be an exciting opportunity for children and families and a welcome expansion of Bethany's fine educational program.

The curriculum will be interdisciplinary, hands-on, and innovative and meet Indiana state standards.

Eliza Stoltzfus and Linda Hochstetler, experienced teachers who are volunteering their time this year to offer enrichment programming for middle school students, will together teach the combined class. Eliza, who served as Bethany's first sixth grade teacher (1996-2001), holds an M.A. in gifted and talented education. Linda, who taught in a Montessori school for seven years, holds a bachelor's degree in biology and an M.D. degree.
