Science Fair
Consumer, technology, and environmental awareness were the categories that middle school students used to create their science fair projects for Thursday, May 21. Students experiential research covered a wide range of topics such as:
- ice cream: sweeter when hot or cold
- most absorbent brand of paper towels
- bandage brand performances under water
- whether % of fat in milk affects preservation/spoilage
- the effect of acid on teeth
Judges Carla Weldy, Carolyn Gundy, and Beth Gerig gave each project a blue, red, or white ribbon. In addition special awards are given for most useful topic, tastiest project, neatest display, most colorful board, and most unique topic. All students in grades 6-8 participated in this event. The projects were on display throughout the day at the fair on Thursday, May 21, and in the evening prior to the middle school choir concert.
