Fine arts team fifth in state. At the May 3 state academic superbowl competition, Bethany's fine arts team placed fifth. This is the twelfth consecutive year that at least one Bethany team has placed in the top five at the state competition. The team qualified for state at the Apr. 15 area academic competition in which the team took first place in its division. Fine arts team members include seniors Alyssa Jarvis, Jessica Herchberger, Nicole Yoder, and Jennifer Snyder.

Bethany's English team also placed first in the area competition, but did not qualify to advance to the state competition.
